Myanmar Essay and Handwriting competition

This month, Dulwich College Yangon hosted the first International Schools Myanmar Essay Writing and Handwriting Competition. Over 100 students from Dulwich College Yangon and international schools across the city gathered at our Star City campus for the competition, which was one of the first times that the international schools have competed in such an event.

Guest judges from Yangon University’s Myanmar language department had the difficult task of marking the many papers. Congratulations go to Anna and Richie from our Pun Hlaing campus for winning the essay writing competitions in both age categories and to Star City students Charlie and Isaac for placing first and second in the handwriting competitions.

‘I have always been eager to support the teaching of Myanmar language and culture at the College and to promote this learning through events such as this’, said Headmaster Daryl Orchard, ‘it is also another example of how Dulwich College is committed to expanding its enrichment programme for students at the weekends.’
