This March, Dulwich College International launched the Pioneering Spirit grant - a competition to fund proposals to develop new and innovative teaching ideas and learning environments across the Dulwich network of schools.

Dulwich College Yangon submitted two bids, one from either campus, and we were excited to learn that both bids won! The team at our Star City campus submitted a project to develop a hydroponics system at the school. The project will involve students, teachers, support staff and parents, working in co-operation with a local NGO and a village school in Dala township. It offers unique opportunities for our students to develop their own entrepreneurial skills whilst making an impact on the local community.  The team at our Pun Hlaing campus submitted a project to design and make a solar powered power station for use in local communities – with the aim of supporting the hydroponics project in Star City. Both projects were awarded considerable grants from DCI to help implement these proposals and develop our students’ skills in innovation and technology.
