The Pun Hlaing campus of Dulwich College Yangon has announced it will begin to offer a comprehensive IGCSE programme in Year 10 and Year 11, launching in August 2019. Originally, the Pun Hlaing campus only intended to offer provision for students up to Year 9, after which students could transfer to the Star City campus to continue their IGSCE, and IB qualification, through to Year 13 (age 17).
"Since our arrival in Yangon in August 2015, Dulwich College Yangon has always prided itself on being an organisation that places the interests of our students at the very heart of everything that we do. The College has been proud to honour our commitments to expand the existing campus at Pun Hlaing with the opening of our Middle School building, as well as opening our brand new campus at Star City, which will soon unveil its outstanding sporting facilities," said Headmaster Daryl Orchard.
"We continue to listen to the views of our stakeholders in order to deliver the best possible international school education in the country. As such, we are always reconsidering our future options on how to further expand our educational offering for our current and future students.
The Dulwich College International family of schools obtained an average of 79% for the top two A*/A grades in their (I)GCSE examination results in 2017 – an outstanding achievement which makes us stand out from other school groups in the region.”
The decision to run IGCSE exams at both campuses will allow the employment of more specialist staff to work across both campuses, in addition to an increase in the range of IGCSE subjects and number of student places in examination classes. Once students have completed their IGCSE examinations at the Pun Hlaing campus, they will have the option to automatically transfer to the Star City campus to continue their studies through to the IB program.
