Year 1 Class Teacher, Pun Hlaing campus
Alice is joining Dulwich College Yangon from the UK, where she specialised in Early Childhood Education. Her passion for working with young children emerged whilst working in a Montessori nursery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Alice holds a degree in Geography from the University of Sheffield. It is here that Alice further developed her love for studying different cultures and ignited a desire to travel and visit as many countries as possible. A field trip to Morocco that researched the education system within the Atlas Mountains further confirmed her beliefs.
Subsequently, Alice was selected onto the highly competitive Teach First Leadership and Development programme. The programme took two years to complete and comprised of specialist teacher training that worked with high proportions of children with English as an additional language. She conducted research studies that looked at the importance of outdoor learning, metacognition and early literacy skills. Prior to joining Dulwich College Yangon, Alice was throughly enjoying her time as a Reception (F2) class teacher in Coventry, UK. The children thrived under Alice’s supportive environment, exceeding attainment expectations.
In her free time Alice enjoys running and has completed multiple half marathons and has ran on behalf of school charities. She also enjoys cooking delicious food and is excited to get cooking with her new class!
