Daryl was born and educated in the United Kingdom, but has spent the past 28 years working in British international schools in Asia. He graduated from the University of Sunderland with a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in Combined Arts and obtained a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from Birmingham University. He also holds an MA from King’s College, London in War Studies and an MBA in Educational Management from the University of Leicester. He joined The British School Manila in 1990 enjoying a variety of class teaching and school leadership positions over a 10 year period. In 2000 he moved to The British International School Phuket, rising to the position of Head of Primary in December 2004 before joining Dulwich College Seoul in October 2009 as the founding Headmaster. Daryl successfully grew the College to over 600 students before leaving in December 2014 to take up his new post as the first Headmaster of Dulwich College Yangon. Daryl is married with four children aged 8, 20, 21 and 25 years old. His interests include travel writing, football, military and Southeast Asian history, as well as being an avid collector of contemporary Jamaican music.
